Salomon Sees 3Q Chip Bottom Dan Bernstein of thestreet.com reports. Jonathan Joseph is looking for bottom in semiconductor industry in 3Q and upturn in 4Q. Improving year-over-year comparisons. Q3 will be slightly lower than Q2 but cautious outlook for rest of year. Likes INTC TXN ADI ALTR AMCC Calls industry "hostile but transitory". Sees sequential increase in PC unit shipments of 5% and 3Q and 10-15% in 4Q. Also looks to computer motherboard industry and DRAM pricing as indicators for nearing bottom.
