Tony,<<<BTW, figuring cost per chip for Itanium, I'd use $4,000 for industry standard servers, just for WAGs, but when they're used in servers like GS and NSK, I'd bet they'll be more because of higher RAS and other super high end CPU chip requirements. Just a guess. >>> Take a look at what they charge for the Alpha Server model GS320: It's a PDF file. You will need to have loaded your Adobe Acrobat: tpc.org It seems like they charge $466,200 for the Alpha Server GS320 and $16,100 each for 31 add on 1 ghz cpu for an additional $499,100. That looks like they get $965,300 for a 32 processor Alpha Server. What am I missing? Mary
