dave, "no monitor, no sound card, no speakers, no modem" You are absolutely right. What I see in retail stores is that people first want to satisfy their list of features, which usually includes a CD Writer and full multimedia hardware. They'd rather buy an 800 MHz PIII or 1 GHz Athlon with everything included than a stripped down P4 box. For the current downturn environment, I would modify the McMannis maxim: Features sell, then Price, then MHz. (somewhat fearing the SDRAM P4's that are coming, unless the media or AMD uncovers the MHz scam) Petz
