Currently on pricewatch the difference @ 512 Mb PC2100 is $390-@256 = $134

If the BOM is only $11, can you explain the large the difference in retail price.

What I find interesting is that Philips semi is doing this. Philips makes no dram (stopped years ago), so they would not be doing this to support the ddr sales per se.
