Rick,

I like the new system {Street Smart Pro (Cyber Trader)}. I use DSL and the information is good. When I place an order I can see it pop on the screen.---Unless it is KDUS for less than a $1 (Schwab retains their right to skim the less than $1 stocks and always adds their margin to my bids), or as you suggest a large order.-- The ability to put all the biotechs I follow on one live screen is also very good.
I haven't studied all the system options as I am sure there are some that I could more fully utilize. I am watching my trades to insure that the slow execution is not purposeful in order to skim a % of the bid/ask. Obviously with decimal trading the skim potential is substantially reduced. I think all the trading houses are being hurt as much by decimal trading as they are by lower volumes.

I too have been a happy camper except for the above issues and the fact that I would like interest on stock or options that I sell short.

J.D.

If you've never read these Gary B. Smith columns on brokers, I think you will find them interesting. As a disclaimer, I don't use Schwab or Yamner, but think about switching to the latter now and then....

Rick,

I upgraded to Street Smart Pro 1.5. I like the integration with the Accounts. Trading is also much easier.

Per previously mentioned problem.----A Team rep told me that Schwab will automatically fill x shares (could be 200 could be 1000, their choice) as a market maker. Then the order falls in Q for processing. Today it took 2 minutes and $.35 to fill the balance of a padded limit order fro SEPR.
I am not aware of a more honest system. than Schwab. For now I live with the annoyance. However like you If I had halved the order and placed it twice I would have payed two commissions but save money.
