Pete, I agree that servers need disks and memory, but they don't contain 18 - 16 port fibre channel switches for a total of $450,000, or storage array cabinets with fibre channel controllers and over a thousand hard drives, all worth over $2,000,000, like that parts list had. Those are external to any server you'd buy.

The servers on this site, whether industry standard Intel based, or Alpha or NSK, do not have provisions to buy any of the stuff I mentioned, INSIDE OF THE SERVER CABINET(S).
Last post to you on this subject and I maintain that memory plus CPU related hardware is very roughly 40% of high end servers cost, with CPU a little more than half of that.
