A Republican with sense......Larry Kudlow, CNBC Economics Commentator

(MARKET)

The Federal Reserve must cut 50 more basis points

Financials have died out, which is hurting liquidity

"Techies" have also died down, and commodities have fallen off as well

The two-year Treasury note has once again risen above the Fed funds rate, which is a bad sign. The Fed funds rate should be a good full percent above the two-year

The value of the Dollar is also a problem in the economy. The Yen is 15% above the value it should be, while the Euro is 15% too low. The Fed must pump out more Dollars

Paul O'Neill, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, had predicted a "strong second-half recovery," based on the advice he received from the Fed. Now he's saying the 4Q will see some recovery

The six-million-dollar-question is whether the recovery (which is out there) will be a slow one or a strong one
