Sal, given the state of the economy, looking long term on any investment right now will lead to less than pleasant short term performance. So I think by definition, looking to 3g at this moment won't do much for me now.

You are absolutely correct that the more successful 2.5g is, the longer Qcom's inevitable total and complete dominance will be delayed. Still, qcom will benefit by 2.5g as much as anyone, so that is where my money is. My 2nd would be Nokia, which has gotten very cheap,if you can look past the current problems, and has stopped screwing around with the longer term issues(pretending that w-cdma is not a qcom ip based technology).
