GV, I believe the new ML policy will have only a limited impact because only a select few analysts (unless things changed a lot in the past three years) bought a lot of stock in the companies they covered. Just like getting questionable research out the door, some analysts had much less redtape buying stock. Many thought it wasn't worth the effort and the restrictions. I think it would bold of one of ML's analysts to list her holdings on her reports. She was one of the analysts who tended to get to do whatever she wanted.
