LOL, sometimes I think the Dark Ages would be progress. At least then different and competing religions were sometimes accepted as just that, and didn't claim to be the only answer... Odin didn't claim powers over Christians, after all <g>

Mind you, the methods of conversion were somewhat more drastic.
