TARADO96,

The thread started out on a, fairly, even keel, but in the heat of the election, and the bitterness that followed Gore's loss, it went to hell, IMO. I don't have time to read all the posts, and rarely even comment because of the nasty responses. Naturally, when someone gets feisty with me, I hasten to return the favor.

If it weren't for the personal attacks here, this board would have been a pretty good discussion site.

I agree with you.

It is very unfortunate. And in my opinion is happens as much from the side I tend to agree with as much as the side I do not.

One of the hardest things to understand is how grown people have been reduced to such extremely juvenile taunting.

I for one appreciate the art of the well crafted insult.

Personal attacks, namecalling, hyperbolic ranting, and bad communication skills (which are all rampant here) dull the point of the author and reduce the conversation to the lowest common denominator.

However, having been around the net for a while, I have learned that there is little hope for improvement in a forum once the consensus has dived down that hole. But the more mature (or artful?) posters have to glean.

As long as the signal to noise ratio is above a certain threshold... I stay.

It has come pretty close here in this forum.

Welcome anyway!
