ODB,
That's pretty negative. But if record levels are achieved,
I wonder how far from a top on that insider selling.
Thinking there is a fair chance for a rally soon, a short term affair, to relieve some of the oversold condition. 60 min compx stochastics and adx confirming a slowing of down action, might be a change in the weather brewing. Of note would be that if we closed right here on the daily(compx), that would be a doji and most probably would mark a turnaround for this latest round of down action. A few days of up would then be likely, no prediction of how strong, and of course,
that does not discount the possibility of heading lower after some up.
Thinking right now good possibility the selling may have run out of steam....
Regards,
Eichler

Hey, maybe all those guys have been getting a load of bills to pay recently?

Railtrack managers have decided it's inappropriate to own stock options (now that the stock has tanked). The last manager made tons of profit by doing things like cutting down on maintenance crews. It only worked for a while for some reason.

oldirtybastard, In that article titled..."Share selling by US directors reaches record"

That is one of the big problems. The article is negative even if the note I make below is factored in. I don't know what the windows of selling is for insiders--that can skew the weekly data but the trend to sell is pretty clear.

The one point that I would make.
The idea behind diversification has finally made sense to insiders who realize that you can't put all your eggs in one basket.
Did you ever read up on what Bill Gates non-MSFT holdings are....they are the most defensive types of assets you can buy. He has been doing this for many years.

Too many people learned this lesson it the hard way, especially insiders in those internets stocks. Of course comparing Bill Gates to those dot.com billionaires is an apples to oranges comparison. This guy is a genius.

This is one factor that may also contribute to the extreme levels of insider selling...the old economy insiders that are seeing their stocks hit record levels have also learned their lessons by watching the destruction of wealth of tech insiders....and they don't want to follow in those footsteps for obvious reasons.
There is no doubt that will be a big factor in the future even if the fundamentals in their industries are very good.
