Uptrend - definition

When the stock's price is LIKELY to continue moving UPWARD for the period of time that matches an investor's horizon. Unless you're a daytrader, nortel has been in a medium term downtrend. If you bought 3+ years ago you may be sitting on a profit, but it has been largely wiped out. There is little evidence that a reversal is near, beyond the ongoing sucker rallies driven by over-optimistic speculation about future conditions in this industry. More evidence is needed.
