That's been my bet, plus I have focused in telecom where there there hasn't been a slowdown thinking that the market could differenciate the market-share gainers. That Ciena, ONI and Sonus have been thrown out with the others is a testament to sector investing (or in this case disinvesting) I guess. Apparently the market thinks Sonus and Nortel make the same stuff!

My list has been free of preannouncements this quarter, too. Let's hope Q2 comparisons prove to be this cycle's worst.

Sonus reports tonight, BTW.

There has been some differentiation going on in my portfolio. It's not all telecom equipment blues. I have few double/triples, and even almost all of the weakest have held their lows. That's one thing about buying and holding a large basket of these companies. The growth starts showing itself even during the most negative sentiment. Overall I'm up a bit more than 60% from the lows in April.
