Touched 40 in March and nearly touched it again in early April.

Not enough sell-off for rally. Not enough rally for sell-off. I think that anyone who expects a swing here either way is either overly optimistic or overly pessimistic. 1850 on downside. 2180 on upside. YAWN

Moufassa, the VIX moves relative to its own trend lines. So a spike of 40 back in April when the VIX was averaging around 30 would be similar to a spike over 32 now when it has been averaging about 21-22.
