See, MSFT is just smarter than everyone else. I said here about 3 weeks ago that someone who is making there numbers needs to come out on a bad day and fry the short sellers, either on a Thursday of expiry week or after hours, and provide a decent outlook. Sure enough only MSFT takes the opportunity....cien could have, sonus could have, vrsn could have, qcom could have, hell, even yhoo could have reaffirmed, etc etc.

Who wants to bet that suddenly everyone gets a bunch of courage....now Mot says they expect an uptick...no one wants to be left behind.

I remember that the nas didn't move forward consistently after the 1990 drop until the biotechs crashed in late 91.

>>We just need a catalyst from some company that can stand up and show some leadership.

Thank you MSFT.

Futures up huge, should be a big short-covering rally given record put/call ratio and underweighted tech sector.
