Microsoft rises on stronger sales
But software giant cuts EPS due to investment charge

REDMOND, Wash. (CBS.MW) -- Microsoft shares gained 6 percent late Wednesday after the software maker raised its fourth-quarter revenue targets. The company also announced plans for a $3.9 billion earnings charge to cover money-losing telecommunications investments.
