We are now living with the financial detritus of this incredibly stupid and badly thought out idea.

Yeah, I've been seeing a lot of that detritus stuff oozing over my portfolio statement these last many months.

So, here we are in July, 2001, investors in an industry in rather severe disarray, and while main royalty issue has been resolved, significant challenges lie ahead in getting the industry moving forward.

Was disappointed, but certainly not surprised, to see that Vodaphone has essentially transposed its Globalstar minutes pricing table to megabytes of GPRS data -- and I don't need Maurice to tell me what the results of that will be.

Not good news today from CMVT on the mobile software front, and we know that without compelling applications, even if carriers are smart enough to adopt WACKY WIRELESS DATA pricing, nobody will care.

Haven't heard anything really exciting on the telematics front for a while.

The only good news is that the porn industry sees 3G as a potential gold mine... now that could be a real spectrum spreader.
