Re: "the intellectually honest thing to do is to make a public statement in this forum that you support the tax cuts"

The tax cut is horribly bad policy. It is evil with a delayed fuse that gets worse over the next 10 years. the budget may go into deficit this year and certainly will next year. But only after stealing money from the lockbox -- Social Security and Medicare.

The only honorable way to proceed is to get rid of the evil, root cause of our problems as soon as possible. Start with Jeb so he can not steal another election. Then install a Democratic Congress in '02 to put the brakes on the Thief in Chief.

And, most importantly, get rid of the Thief in Chief in '04. As we wait for this resurrection, the Senate should block ALL Supreme Court nominations by the Thief in Chief. The health of our democracy can not stand any more assaults on the Constitution by the Supreme Court's Scalia-led 5.

See the recent books by Alan Dershowitz and Vincent Bugliosi. They present a devastating case on the actions of the majority in Bush v. Gore.

f you cannot bring yourself to make such a statement, I recommend you send the uncashed check back to the US Treasury. Or, alternatively, cash it, send ME my half, and send the OTHER half back to the Treasury.

Huh? I know you conservatives are smarter than us liberals but apparently in your speed reading of posts you keep missing points. I did not say I was sending my tax cut $$$ to the compaign against J. Bush although I think it may be a good idea and am considering it.
