Nice try. The argument for using clustered 2-way servers is that it's cheaper to put four 2-way servers together than to buy one 8-way server. If you think an 8-way Sledgehammer will cost just as much as four 2-way servers, you are deluding yourself.

Pete, what does AMD have coming for blade server CPU chips? That's where it's going. Intel has Tualatin with low and very low voltage here now. Paradigm changes can require all new solutions, will this time, and I don't hear of anything from AMD that meets the requirements.
