Hmm, well theoretically, yes. But practically, with our current technology you wouldn't be able to efficiently and economically make all hydrocarbons out of anything that has H C and O in it...

I mean.. could you get a big pile of H,C,O,Ca,Na,So,Cl and so on and make a salad?
