GV, typical McNeally. He and Jerry Sanders must share ideas at the 19th hole at some golf course. I would immediately ask McNeally how reliability proven his non-ECC cache systems are. What a hypocrite.

Funny ad, but they may be underestimating the knowledge of their customer. Looks to me like it's targeted at the CEO, with a fear tactic, rather than the CIO, who probably cares more about performance and reliability.

It brings attention to Compaq - which is NOT necessarily a bad thing for Compaq or Intel.

Just as AMD's TV ads in the past have mentioned Intel - and the ads bombed for AMD - but didn't seem to hurt Intel one iota.
