kirk, i'm saying many companies purposely mislead the "quick glance" crowd (98% of investors) in the way they "manage" their reporting.

msft adds in their investment gains to their reported revenue. let's see if they use the same principle and reduce reported revenues by their $2 billion investment loss.

hint, they WON'T! wanna bet? ;-)

why are the rules DIFFERENT?

i KNOW why! i think you do to. effective manipulation of the "quick glance" crowd.

does anybody know a good free web site to check out income statements and balaance sheets for companies? if so, let me know and i'll cite specifics.

kirk, re: cash flow. micron has negative cash flow and takes about $500 million from the equity markets every year. yet, people reward them handsomely.

my point, if smart people look aat cash flow, there sure are a LOT of dumb folks controlling a lot of dough ;-)
