Skeeter, you're getting your press releases mixed up. The one that says "Record Revenue and Income" is last fiscal year's report. The current warning is entitled, "Microsoft Expects to Report Charge Related to Investment Impairments."

I do think that you have a point to the extent that the one time charge will be prominently featured whereas the ongoing contribution of investment income to earnings has not been. But that's the fault of the press release writers, not the accountants.
