I don't buy into the market share gains. AMD has no idea what Intel shipped. We have to wait until Tuesday to get a clearer picture

Give me a break. When has Intel ever given #s shipped?? No clear picture from those clowns. Just more obfuscation. I can't believe the analysts don't press for more details.

JF, I don't buy into the market share gains. AMD has no idea what Intel shipped. We have to wait until Tuesday to get a clearer picture.

I think it was a Jonathan Joseph report posted here that said that Intel's shipments were UP half a million. On a base of about 27m, that's 2%, while AMD's shipments were up 6%. The difference would almost exactly account for a gain in AMD market share from 21% to 22+%.

Some of the brokerage reports report what their models tell them about unit shipments and ASP's. Where JJ and these other guys get their info, I have no clue, but it will have to do, since Intel doesn't say anything.
