The forces of magic, and dogma, and custom are fading away into a new world of reason. The transition while steady is not always smooth.
I suspect one of the fundamental differences between liberals and conservatives is that liberals believe in the perfectibility of man- -that Utopia is actually achievable (witness Communism) and conservatives do not.

You're dreaming. Man's knowledge could be, and at some point most likely will be, a thousand times greater than what we have now, and man will still be man, and armies and cops and governments and punishment will still be needed.

If that's what you think, you're trading one dogma for another, less free one. The forces of magic, and dogma, and custom are fading away into a new world of reason.

I don't think we will ever agree on this one, Tiger. That's OK, my mother doesn't either. However, she was good enough to allow me to keep my guns at an early age. I got my first pistol at age 12 and my first large bore pistol at age 14. I never violated her trust.
