I agree that this rally will end up being short term. The big hope for techs (which will lead the next bull phase) is a killer app, that everyone needs and will cause mass upgrades in computers, servers and such. Msft's new WindowsXp is not it as far as I can tell. I did upgrade two (out of three) of my computers to win98, then win me and found value in both upgrades though not much. What needs to happen now is the following killer app: a program, or part of a new windows operating system that allows you to call any regular telephone from any computer for free. People will pay a lot for that upgrade, even if it means buying new ram or whatever. Yes, this is entirely possible, and anything less will not cause an upgrade cycle. Yes, such a killer app would be hard on Sprint and a few others but it's inevitable anyway.
