Hi tinkershaw; Re: "This stock is so volatile, complex and scary to hold that maybe one is not better off being sober during the duration of owning the company."

This is sort of an indication that you have some sense, LOL!!! But I'm sure all the bad news is out already, it really can't get any worse, LOL!!! Or maybe when that accounts receivable figure blows up even higher next quarter...

What I'd like to have explained to me is how Rambus could possibly be talking about barely breaking even for the next 3 quarters. That would seem to be in stark contrast to the predictions of the RDRAM ramp going hog wild. Yeah, I know that RDRAM prices have been dropping, but they haven't been dropping as fast as RDRAM is supposed to be ramping.

And this talk about how the i845 will ship in substantial volumes, what's this coming out of Rambus? Does anybody think that maybe they're a bit afraid of having their pants sued off for misleading their shareholders? LOL!!!

Tinkershaw, you had it right, in an ironic fashion, when you wrote these classic lines:

Nonetheless, one thing that separates humans from animals is our ability to see through the
[fear] and get down to the nitty gritty gist. I think there is little else in the financial world that can better test your meddle than coming to grips with this fear with RMBS. There seems to be an entire industry set-up just to scare the living bejeezus out of you if you even deign considering holding RMBS.

Actually, the thing that separates us from the animals is that the animals don't sit around figuring out whether or not an "entire industry" is giving out signs that investing in Rambus is a very bad idea. In fact, this is a text based web site, for instance, and animals can't read.

Let's describe this sequence more exactly. The industry put up signs as clear as they could, and they put them right where you could most clearly and certainly read them. And they were scary signs. And you read them. But you went ahead and bought RMBS anyway. And you consider yourself superior to an animal? LOL!!! Hey, you were running with scissors, so you could cut gasoline soaked play bandages for your cigarette smoking Teddy Bear up on the steeply inclined roof. What did your mother tell you would happen if you did that? BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

P.S. Probably the biggest difference between humans and animals is that animals can't sit around in an alcoholic stupor and think things like "Damn, maybe I'm not the brilliant super genius that I thought I was!"
