Actually, where you are coming from is the heart of TA. How much of a trend do you let get away before you jump on? My feeling is that while it is possible to anticipate a trend I feel much safer having it proven to me ahead of time. I can't tell you how many times I just "knew" it was time to go for it and then got whipsawed right out of it. Letting the first part of a new trend get away and then jumping in on a retracement is how I work now. It certainly isn't the "right" way - but it works for me and I can sleep at night. regards exeric
