Hey, I love my GPS. I have 4 of them. I have a Trimble Pathfinder Pro XRS with OmniStar realtime corrections. I use it to map natural gas pipelines. Realtime accuracies horizontally are typically 2 or 3 feet with 5 to 10 second occupations with 1 shot per second recorded. I used to correct differentially, but with real time I can also navigate directly to known coordinates. I also don't have to download base files like I used to.

I saw on Yahoo that a new more accurate(something on the order of 1,000 to 10,000 times more accurate if I remember) atomic clock was just completed. I wonder if it will improve single autonomous hand held GPS accuracies? It made reference to more precise navigational satellite positions. I hope so.

Have a good weekend Dave.
