As I said in one of my other posts, military spending is largely a waste. It is the equivalent of digging holes, then filling them up again. In spite of the loss of the few beneficial side effects (such as large R&D spending and accompanying technological advancement), it would be well worth while to do without it. We should be so lucky. A toast: Only the dead have seen the end of war. I'll try it! I'll let you know how it went over (if I survive).
