No. But I don't believe the myths they created about their past any more than I believe the myths written by the Greeks, about theirs... David never existed? Who knows. Possibly... but maybe not as quite as mighty a figure as the bible would indicate. Do other contemporary records from the large empires around the ME record him or Solomon? Do we see masses of coinage, great buildings (or the remains thereof), traces of great cities...? Surely the Zionist Jews in particular would have foudn good evidence by now to justify their claims to eretz Israel... they haven't. Maybe he was the leader of another small city-state in the area, a local lord. Finally, distinguish your semantics, please. To me, the universe has no 'aim' - there is no 'plan' for it, no 'will' directing its path. This does not mean that beginning and end cannot be determined: we can work out the mathematical constants, and are working on the 'how'. Nor does the Big Bang indicate generation from nothing. We don't know exactly how it happened... yet... we're down to the first millionth (or so) of a second. But I don't think anyone's seriously proposed that there was 'nothing' there before... how can you say 'before' about the beginning of space-time? There is no 'why' for the universe within science - that I know of. (And why you bring in Pasteur, I cannot guess... he's not known as a cosmologist). But I'm no expert, nor can I be bothered to do all the thinking for you... since even the US education system has plainly failed to bring you out of the 5th century, since science, technology and reason have so plainly passed you by, since you jeer and deride the very means and inventors who enable you to communicate here, I see no reason to bother with you any longer. Go, reject science and the fruits of human endeavour. Go, live by the bible. And go and die early and miserable in ignorant, primitive squalor.
