I-mann,
I respect your posts, you are neither perma-bear or perma-bull. You keep it cordial....even if I disagree with your opinion, the element of respect is not missing.
Not only have I not attacked you, I've gone to bat for you too.
I guess I'm not all that surprised that people are threatened enough by your musings to go to attack mode.
I am not threatened.
Also, I suspect your thoughts mirror the thoughts of many investors out there. That is information that is valuable to me...no reason to attack you.
Those raining on your parade with outrageous attacks on you,
public or private...are not worth the trouble....
Rock on.....
Regards,
Eichler

Iowaman Sez:

"I thought this board was for the discussion of TA and I've
merely tried to address the parameters of the tool and establish benchmarks of accuracy."

I think what Iowaman is trying to get across, and he can correct me if I am wrong, is that a lot of data is being kept off this thread. All of the discussion that I have read (the part that I can understand) is about PROCESS. I see nothing about RESULTS (except a few vague references).

Now I am a results-oriented kind of guy. I suspect Iowaman is too. To me, the process is validated by positive results.

I may be an English major, but I took enough science to know that "Results" is a very important part of the scientific experimental process.

I believe one of the purposes of this thread is to convince more people that the TA process is the way to go. Most of the folks here sing the praises of TA. Okay, that's fine, but what are the results?

I am willing for anyone to show me a better way. But I won't see any better way without a look at the bottom line. If your process is so great, show me the results. No one is looking for results that go up all the time. We know that stocks don't do that. But you need to show me that your process gets realistically desirable results, and in terms that are not susceptible to more than one interpretation.

I challenge anyone who swears by TA to post results the way I do. How did you do today, this week, this month, and this year? And give that data every day. Just use my format. Very short and succinct. Easy to understand. This will allow me to form some valid conclusions about your process. If everyone does it, we can see the results of more than one process, and that would be a GOOD thing.

For the record, I am not promoting any process. I have one, but I don't recommend it to anyone, and my results are a good reason why I shouldn't. The worm may turn though, and my report allows us to compare processes as the climate changes. Or, we could IF everyone would participate.

We are here to learn, but MAINLY we are here to make money. So let's see more focus on dollars and bottom lines.

Best,
