We can always agree apriori to set aside Pluto for the Chinese and/or Russians <g>.

But, seriously, if we are approaching a deflationary spiral, large deficit spending by US government may be the only way to keep the economy going - NMD as hi-tech New Deal. Of course, after this year’s tax cut I doubt that is what Bush has in mind.

I guess everyone already knew about White. Funny the things one misses when one focuses on economics rather than politics - I did not realize that Alger Hiss (a member of the Eastern Establishment, but not very high up on the ladder) helped set up the United Nations, serving as temporary Secretary General.
