Just heard that DOJ and remaining states will not seek appeal to USSC nor rehearing at CA. Too bad they don't have bloomberg terminals in the Hamptons.

By the way, there are plenty of companies that are weathering this recession just fine, not just MSFT. Are you accusing GE of cooking the books? There are hundreds of examples. The companies that are suffering are the ones that rely on million $ contracts for a big part of their business. Many companies are holding off on purchasing a major contract with ORCL as an example. MSFT on the other hand relies on lots of small purchases by the consumer and businesses. The consumer hasn't slowed spending much and businesses are still buying PCs and software from MSFT because it's a hundred bucks a head, not a fortune. One thing that could hurt MSFT is if the recession spreads fully to the consumer. If the market falls too much further and there are even more layoffs, the consumer could eventually give up the ghost. If that happens, you can expect MSFT to suffer more than they have so far. No dramatic signs of that yet, that's why you shouldn't question the recent MSFT results. IMO, Dave
