We coulda killed em' then? There has been many cases of "pulling the plug" on coma or brain dead victims. I don't see the issue as being very relevant to when self awareness forms, or for when a person becomes a person. There are many criminal statutes for violence against non-human victims. All in all the actions you describe would appear criminal regardless of the outcome of some self awareness concept and therefore shed no real light on the issue. so willing to discard my "beliefs" What I meant when I wrote your beliefs are unimportant jives with the statement "I'm not possessed of enough facts on the matter". My beliefs are also unimportant and that was my point. The more emotional the issue, and the more manipulated the issue, the less important it is what we think about things, and the more important what we know about them. This is not self-centered, this is just critical analysis, it can go wrong and it can miss facts, but it works better than gut feelings on manipulative issues. TP
