Epcos Warns
public.wsj.com
This does not bode well. Excerpts:
---
Spokesman Heinz Kahlert said the reason for the decline in earnings was due, in part, to a "drastic decline in orders" especially in the second half of June.
--
Many of its key customers are high-profile casualties of the steep drop in spending on technology and telecommunications equipment. They include former parent Siemens AG, Finland's Nokia Corp., Sweden's Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson , Motorola Inc. of the U.S., and the Netherlands' Philips Electronics N.V.

If they're not buying GSM parts, what does that tell you about probable GSM sales?

>> Nokia reports sometime that Thursday, doesn't it? <<

PCS reports 7/19 before the bell. So does NOK. Now that NOK has signed with QCOM, what they have to say will probably affect QCOM.

My guess: We will probably have one positive report (PCS) and one negative (NOK). Effect on QCOM - neutral to down (especially if NAZ moves down).
