Bobby Beara explained why that's so on the MDD thread:

The shame of it is that it can be productive for bulls and bears to debate issues if some level of tolerance and civility is maintained>>>>

uncle frank, that's the idllyic tome that LG initiated this thread on, but i doubt acheivable, not that we want to abandon the effort to try to acheive it and do everthing possible to create a better atmosphere

the markets are the modern day hunt of neandrathal man, hunting and gathering for food for his clan, no matter how we try to dress-up with civility, the underlying emotions are not much different than neandrathal man trying to beat the neighboring clan to the kill, to feed his clan.

the emotions are what create the wide swings, hey they have road rage, air rage, and chat rage,

get used to it, try to quell it, but expect it.

Tinker,

When I see something wrong with Rambus I don't hesitate to say so. Unfortuantely this is not the case for those who seem to have a personal vendetta and personal hatred against Rambus.

Since I enjoy disagreeing with you so much I'm gonna take advantage of this opportunity also. :) In an odd sort of way, I think it's fortunate when people discuss only one side of an investment. It's almost always in an evangelical approach. We've seen it time and time again, sometimes in a rude way but sometimes in a deceptively acceptable demeanor. And time after time, the person who is unwilling to discuss both the pros and cons of a company or a stock are eventually proven to be wrong in an embarrassing sort of way. It's fortunate for us that they do that so we know to pay little attention to them, knowing that the approach they use is a nearly reliable indicator that they're wrong.

Just my opinion.
