Actually, I'm of the opinion that the only true value of a stock is what someone is willing to pay for it. I think sometimes stocks are overvalued and sometimes they're undervalued and occasionally fairly valued (maybe for a minute or two).

Then the world changes and the stock's value changes. Is Microsoft worth more the minute after the judge's decision than it was worth the minute before? Possibly, due to the elimination of some uncertainty and the possiblity of settlement or at least an easier judge.

I do think that by the time everyone and everyone's uncle is discussing something, then its time has already passed. What happened to all the chatter about the Calif energy crisis?

I don't know if a bottom has been put in but it certainly is a lot closer than when Webvan was getting ready to spend $1b on automated warehouses.
