While everyone wants to believe this will put pressure on Beijing, I agree with you. I learned long ago not to reward either a dog's, or a human's bad behavior.

The major world powers share so many economic interests that we can no longer be "enemies" or even sanction each other in any meaningful way. We're a global economy & that rules. The good side of that is we need never fear any kind of WW III from them or us.

The bad side of that is little countries w/ no economic incentives have very little to lose if they decide on some kind of biowarfare attack or worse.
