What I have been suggesting is that China now is not China then.

The New Yorker article is perhaps right, but perhaps wrong.

What was then and what is now are different.

All I have suggested is that the idea that what was reality in the past, may not be reality now.

Perhaps it is.

But perhaps it is not.

Is this related to the sound of one hand clapping, or I have just not had enough to drink yet?<gg>
