I think it's hard for management to admit defeat and close stores. It can also hurt a chain's image, I suppose.


I am not sure about a chains image. The admit defeat or being wrong is a similar emotional as one addresses when owning a stock that is performing poorly. It is so difficult for most to sell and cut losses. I know that certainly is true for me.
