Emmylou show: Well it was just marvelous! She is a rock and roll star..WOW! She played an acoustic...dude named Buddy Miller on electric and mandolin...he was one bad mofo. Great young bass and drums. They start off these tunes in a country-fied fashion and work them into these rollicking jams ...She was in great voice and you could tell she loved Austin (she mentioned it several times)..Patty Griffin hopped onstage for 2 tunes..one of which was her excellent "One Big Love", which Emmylou covers on Red Dirt Girl It was the kind of show I could go see 3 nights in a row..rated a 4 on the goosebump meter

Any self-respecting rocker's collection MUST contain "Fully Completely" by THE TRAGICALLY HIP. These guys are the best live band on the planet..right next to Los Lobos. They rassle for the title every night<g> Although I have ALL Hip Cds and a few killer bootlegs courtesy of Banzai, I think that this one is a perfect piece. I seriously doubt they can ever surpass it on record This CD is just a killer.............IMO The HIP sell out big shows night after night in Canada, but play relatively small venues in the States..If they come to town..BE THERE! Left alone to get gigantic Hard, huge, and haunted A generation so much dumber than it's parents Came crashing through the window a taste: captaink.home.texas.net
