Oh Abstract, I laughed. I cried. I cried some more. I laughed. Especially when the lovelorn boyfriend chases his girlfriend, Miss Nebraska, 'cross country in his combine. We live such parallel lives <g> - I once saw a cowboy in overalls sing this tune in a karaoke club in Pasadena. I too laughed and cried... ;)

SHE THINKS MY TRACTOR'S SEXY - Kenny Chesney

Plowing these fields in the hot summer sun,
Over by the gate, Lordy here she comes,
With a basket full of chicken and a big tall jug of sweet tea,
I make a little room and she climbs on up,
Open up the throdle and stir a little dust,
Just look at her face she aint a foolin' me,
She thinks my Tractor's Sexy,
It really turns her on,
She's always staring at me, while I'm chuggin along,
She likes the way its pullin while were tillin up the land,
She's even kinda crazy about my farmer's tan,
She's the only one who really understands what gets me,
She think's my tractor's Sexy,
We ride back and forth til we run out of light,
then take it to the barn put it up for the night,
Climb up in the loft sit and talk with the radio on,
She said she's got a dream and I ask what it is,
She wants a little farm and a yard full of kids,
and one more teeny weeny ride before I take her home,
She thinks my Tractor's Sexy,
It really turns her on,
She's always staring at me, while I'm chuggin along,
She likes the way its pullin while were tillin up the land,
She's even kinda crazy about my farmer's tan,
She's the only one who really understands what gets me,
She think's my tractor's Sexy,
Well she aint into cars or pick-up trucks,
But if it runs like a Deere, man her eyes light up,
She thinks my tractor's,
She thinks my Tractor's Sexy,
It really turns her on,
She's always staring at me, while I'm chuggin along,
She likes the way its pullin while were tillin up the land,
She's even kinda crazy about my farmer's tan,
She's the only one who really understands what gets me,
She think's my tractor's Sexy,
She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy,
She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy

The last paragraph of this article makes so much sense...

'Beijing Gets The Gold With Olympic Bid'

Friday July 13

Forbes.com

By Arik Hesseldahl

<<Apparently overcoming its international image problem associated with persistent human rights abuses, the People's Republic of China has won the confidence of the International Olympic Committee, winning the vote to host the 2008 Olympic Games in the capital city of Beijing.

The decision isn't likely to sit well with human rights activist organizations that haven't forgotten the bloody 1989 crackdowns on pro-democracy demonstrators in Tiananmen Square. Amnesty International quickly pointed out that hundreds of people are still languishing in prisons more than 12 years after authorities in Beijing quelled the protest with tanks and soldiers. Hundreds more died.

More recently, China has been criticized for its bloody suppression of the Falun Gong religious sect. In the last three months, according to Amnesty's estimates, China has executed more than 1,700 alleged criminals, more than three times the number of executions in the rest of the world in the last three years. Religious and ethnic minorities including Christians continue to face suppression and harassment for their beliefs.

Hopefully, the microscope of international attention will force China to behave better, both domestically and on the world stage. But it will certainly give new weight to the argument that the only way to make China act like a better world citizen is to continue to engage it at every level.

"The Chinese have actually come a lot farther than they are often given credit for in turning that gigantic and long-isolated country in the direction of international standards of behavior," says Robert Kapp, president of the U.S.-China Business Council based in Washington, D.C.

Obviously, there will be huge opportunities for foreign companies to do increased business in China leading up to the games. Telecommunications and information technology firms probably have the best shot at winning new business during the next seven years leading up to the games, Kapp says. In recent months, companies like Motorola and Nortel Networks have landed huge contracts for wireless and telecom infrastructure in China.

Several U.S. companies, among them Coca-Cola , Eastman Kodak and McDonald's , will look to benefit from the brand-building exposure the Beijing Olympics will bring in that market.

For years, China has fought to improve its image in the eyes of the outside world. The next seven years leading up to the games will present China with a prime chance to put its best foot forward on many fronts. If not for the sake of the ghosts of Tiananmen Square, then for the sake of its own people and the health of its own economy, it best not waste the opportunity.>>
