Earlie,

I would be delighted to compare my results from this past 12 months (which exceed 100% by a bunch) with folks who have resolutely invested only from the long side.

Please remember that though anything other than rudeness is on-topic in this thread, it is a thread devoted to a long-term investment thesis. 12 months is not a long term, at least not in the context of the thesis for which this thread was created.

We're not in a contest or any sort of competition. Instead, we're here to learn from each other. The fact that my investments for more than a decade have outperformed the market so well that they would be the envy of almost every professional investment manager doesn't give any reason for me to invite comparisons with others here or anywhere. I know there are people whose investments have underperformed mine and I know there are people whose investments have wildly outperformed mine. It really doesn't matter, and to suggest otherwise is so close to bragging that it also borders on being rude, which is off-topic here.
