Ok.....Rather than reply to each person who posted to me I thought I'd just do a general post. While I can accept the opinions expressed on this thread I find myself compelled to play the devils advocate. This is a very UGLY situation and one the brings out emotional responses in people (myself included - Maybe even more so). My position is well documented. I have some serious concerns and I'm not sticking my head in the sand. I just want to make sure that as we move forward we do so in such a way that compliments our people and system of justice. I think it's really important to avoid the type of thing we saw with OJ. I mean this not only from an outcome standpoint but also from a global ridicule standpoint. If more evidence is found and it points to him I want to be coming from a serious position of Moral high ground. It's hard people! A young girl is missing and likely dead. Her family is devastated which just rips me up inside. And almost as bad it may involve a publicly elected official. We have yet again entered a dark time. I just want to make sure that as we enter the abyss that everyone does so with a clear head a no preconceived notions based on anything but fact. I hope that I made people think about their positions. It's not that my line of logic is so brilliant - hell, I'm nothing more than Joe Lunchbucket. But I know that on more than a few occasions (as I read a post on SI) I found myself being kicked in the head which helped aid the gopher spin my wheel. To me, part of what makes this forum great is that the many opinions voiced make you think about issues from many angles.
