I had an interesting experience which proved to me that Restart is not the same as shutting your computer down and starting it back up. It all began when my RealPlayer crashed. When I clicked on the icon to start it up again, nothing happened. I did CTRL-ALT-DEL to see which programs were running, and RealPlayer was not one of them. So, I did

Start
Shutdown
Restart
OK

to reboot the computer. After all this, RealPlayer still would not respond when I clicked on the icon. So, I did

Start
Shutdown
Shutdown
OK

After that, RealPlayer worked fine.

Thanks PW. I wish I could have written it as simply as you did. That is exactly what I am trying to do.

You may get an informational warning about the size change.

This gave me slight pause but I guess an informational warning can be ignored. After installing the new drive the next step would be;C:\Windows\Command\Format D: from my Win Me boot disk I assume?

Drive Image 4.0 has something called "Disk to Disk Copy", but at first glance it looks a little bit more complicated. It has some choices about hiding partitions on one drive or the other to prevent screwing up drive letters. I want both drives to be identical so they could be exchanged if necessary so I think I will stick with the restore image option.

Thanks again! Now I am off to BEST BUY to purchase the new drive.
