But he might prefer the frappachino.

My personal opinion is that politics in this country has deteriorated to the point that anybody who actually wants to run for national office should be disqualified on that basis alone. Anybody who is willing to do what is necessary to raise enough money to run for national office cannot retain the qualities of honesty, integrity, and commitment to the interests of the voters rather than the funders that are IMO necessary for responsible governance.

I expect Karen will disagree, and she will, I'm sure, be able to point me to a few exceptions. But I think a simple look at the way Congress and the Presidency work (or don't work) today will make my point for me.

Up until a year ago, the Supreme Court was the most respected national political institution. It is an appointed, not an elected, body. Coincidence?
