OT: Agree, I'm sure Cornelis Wreswijk rests in peace, or at least he is having fun. My first experience was this song in dutch where he ended the whole thing with a helpful, quick translation of the one and only word understandable, "ein raket" = en raket. (touches the inner neurons of anyone bilingual, the most famous finnish version is to start the speach with an inserted "ärade medborgare" to show a minimum bilingual capability) IMO one of "artists of life" which gets "better and better" the older one (the listner) gets, raised to the same level of Taube and Ramel lately(??) (nothing wrong with stuff which is made to only for instant meaning and not long lasting, both needed) On this side of the bay we have the blessing of our imported national hero, Neil Hardwick, still alive and active. Ilmarinen P.S. Beckett is sometimes a more modern Strindberg copy. (finnish TV runs a "Beckett summer", great!!) P.P.S No question on how Cornelis "saved" you, but I can see lots of possibilities. P.P.P.S An interesting thing I stumbled on, this Tolstoy grandgrand..daughter in sweden singing jazz and another Tolstoy offspring involved in wireless operator business. (but I have never really got the idea of Tolstoy, I guess I must learn more background) (I went to one swedish place in finland just to hear Cornelis just before he died, he did not arrive, but this Tolstoy girl did)
