On politics, since I can write what I like about it here and Ramsey cannot sue me for that, nor ban me, nor whine or even ask SIBob to kick me off [for OT - and especially since SIBob was kicked off himself], the Chinese having the Olympic Games is good for QUALCOMM.

CDMA is all about politics [other than the photon and customer stuff]. China and CDMA and W and Condoleezza and Colin and Taiwan and Japan and Korea North+South are tied up in one big happy CDMA money-go-round.

CDMA is off and running in China and China will NOT want to have a mess. They want to be the biggest 1200 kg King Kong Gorilla in town and want CDMA. They didn't get dragged into a mess over the spy plane [despite W getting a bit silly]. They didn't go ape over Taiwan. They stayed cool when Clinton bombed their embassy in Belgrade. They [allegedly] got a good royalty deal for CDMA used in China, same as the whining Koreans did for CDMA in Korea.

CDMA is going to be very-big very-fast in China [and India I expect, except that "Made in India" is trivial compared with "Made in China" in the world's bazaars, so we can't expect rapid expansion of CDMA in India until they make economic sense with their political system].

QUALCOMM is going to be the 800 pound Gorilla. Sales in China are going to be huge.
